Former convicted paedophile who made himself a leader of a Messianic group in Scotland

In the light of the disturbing revelation that a former convicted paedophile has made himself a leader of a Messianic group in Scotland, the BMJA wishes to comment. Ron Chalmers was neither a member of the BMJA or the International Messianic Jewish Alliance, nor was his group affiliated to the BMJA in any way. The BMJA is a registered charity that operates with a strong Child Protection Policy and anyone working with children or young people is required to have the statutory CRB checks.

Our prayers and support are with the child he abused and his family, who must be distressed to hear how this sex-offender has put himself into a position of trust yet again.
